Independence and Reliability: Each port operates independently; a failure or maintenance of one port does not affect other ports.
Simple Cabling: The antenna connects directly to a single-channel reader in a nearby control cabinet, simplifying the wiring.
Cost Optimization: For devices with only 1 ports, using a single-channel reader is more economical than using a multi-channel reader.
The system applies to the following SEMI standards:
SEMI E99 Carrier ID read/write standard
SEMI E37 High-speed SECS Messaging Service Common Service (HSMS)
SEMI E5 Device Communication Standard 2 Message Content (SECS II)
SEMI E4 Device Communication Standard 1 Message Content (SECS I)

An etching machine, thin film deposition equipment, or measurement and control machine has one or more independent loading ports.
Configuration: An antenna is embedded below or to the side of each port. This antenna is connected to a separate single-channel reader/writer.
Workflow:
AMHS AGVs or OHT cranes transport the FOUP to the equipment port and lower it.
The CID tag on the bottom of the FOUP enters the antenna sensing area (typically a few centimeters to tens of centimeters).
The single-channel reader/writer is triggered and reads the tag's unique ID.
The reader/writer transmits the ID in real time to the equipment's automation program or upper-level manufacturing execution system via industrial protocols such as RS232,EtherNet, or RS-485.
EAP/MES verifies that the FOUP is the correct batch to be processed by the current machine. Upon successful verification, the port door opens, and the internal robotic arm removes the wafer for processing.
